Citizen Science

Commemorating my participation in a citizen science project coordinated by Chicago’s Field Museum, this print lists the number of monarch butterfly eggs (275) and the number of monarch caterpillars (13) counted in our yard in the summer of 2020. Printed on Boxcar Press Flurry paper; monoprint with acrylic paint; linoleum cut inked by hand in blue and grey, handset metal and wood type. Butterfly ornaments from Dale Guild Type Foundry, 12 point Bernhard Booklet Italic, 12 point News Gothic, 36 point wood type (unidentified). Numbered edition of 30, 3 artist proofs, 9 x 12 inches.
